FAQ

Neuropsychologist vs psychologist : what is the difference?

A neuropsychologist specializes in understanding how brain function affects behavior and cognitive processes, often working with individuals who have brain injuries, neurological conditions, or developmental disorders. In contrast, a psychologist focuses more broadly on mental health, emotions, and behavior, using therapeutic techniques to address issues like anxiety, depression, and stress.

While both are trained in psychology, neuropsychologists emphasize the brain-behavior connection, whereas psychologists typically address general psychological and emotional well-being.
